Basic Calculation:20

Detailed Explanation: Multiplication of two numbers having the base 1000 and the numbers are less than 1000.

Rule is that the one of the numbers is how much below the other number, which is subtracted from the other number.

For example, in the multiplication of 998 × 999, 999 is 1 less than 1000, so 1 is subtracted from the other number, 998; so that it becomes 998-1 = 997 and we read it as 997 thousand (as the base is 1000). Then, we see that the two numbers are how much below the base 1000. We multiply them and add. So, the answer is 997 thousand and 002 (-2 × -1 = 2)
So, the required answer is 997,002 Ans.
998 × 999 = [(998-1) ×1000 + (-2×-1)] = 997002
Similarly, in the product of 996 × 998 ; 996 and 998 are below respectively by 4 and 2 from the base 1000, so either 4 is subtracted from 998 or 2 is subtracted from 996. In each case we get 994, and read it as 994 thousand.  And, -4×-2 = 008. So, the answer is 994008.
996 × 998 = [(96-2) ×1000 + (-4×-2)] = 994008
             Basic Calculation:20
Multiplication of two numbers having base 1000
998 × 999 = [(998-1) ×1000 + (-2×-1)] = 997,002
994 × 998 = [(994-2) ×1000 + (-6×-2)] = 992,012
991 × 996 = [(991-4) ×1000 + (-9×-4)] = 987,036
993 × 995 = [(993-5) ×1000 + (-7×-5)] = 988,035
989 × 993 = [(989-7) ×1000 + (-11×-7)] = 982,077
988 × 999 = [(988-1) ×1000 + (-12×-1)] = 987,012
975 × 992 = [(975-8) ×1000 + (-25×-8)] = 967,200
